Abdullah ibn ‘Amr (Radiyallahu Anhu) said, “A man asked the Prophet(Peace be upon him), ‘Which aspect of Islam is best?‘ He said, ‘FEEDING PEOPLE and greeting those you know and those you do not know.’” {Bukhari}

Abdullah ibn ‘Amr reported that the Messenger of Allah, (Peace be upon him), said, “Worship the All-Merciful and feed people. Make the greeting common practice among you and you will enter the Garden.” {Al-Adab Al-Mufrad}

Above Hadith shows that Islam encourages us to feed the poor and needy. With the funds raised from our Food Appeal, Akram Aid provides food packs for hundreds of needy families. We believe, no one should go hungry to bed. When distributing the food packs we always give priority to widows and orphans.

Right now, we have teams on the ground in some of the world’s poorest communities around the world. With your donations towards our food appeal, we are providing life-saving food aid to families facing hardship through poverty, disability and loss of a breadwinner in the family.

There are millions of refugees, poor & needy people around the world who don’t get to have even one hot meal a day. This problem is worst in refugee camps in Yemen, Syria, Gaza & Bangladesh. Even in countries like the UK and Pakistan millions don’t get to eat one nutritional hot meal a day.

Akram Aid is helping the poor and needy around the world. From time to time to we organise hot meals for the refugees, day labourers and the homeless. Each meal consists of a nutritional freshly cooked meal plus a drink.

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid does not cost you a penny more, but can add an additional 25p to every £1 you donate. When Akram Aid receives a donation from a UK taxpayer, we're entitled to claim an amount of tax (calculated at the basic rate of income tax in that year) paid on that donation. Once you have given your permission for us to do this on your behalf, there is no need for you to do anything else.

All that is required is that you must be a taxpayer and that would have paid or will pay sufficient Income and/or Capital Gains Tax to cover all the Gift Aid claimed on all your donations in that tax year. Please note that it is your responsibility to pay any difference.

The amount of tax we claim will be 25% of the total value of your donations in that tax year. Furthermore, if you are a higher taxpayer, you are also entitled to claim the difference between the basic rate which we will claim and the amount of tax you have actually paid. For further details on how you can do this, please contact your tax office. If your tax situation changes and your gifts will no longer be eligible for the Gift Aid scheme please contact us and we will amend your record accordingly.
